TLB (Talking linux for the blind) is a Linux-based CD distribution for the blind computer users in Croatia (with Croatian speech support & various software applications).

TLB DEVELOPMENT PORTAL

This TLB Development portal was created for two main reasons. One was to simplify our development process, keeping track with the latest updates, corrections and improvements. The second, far more important reason, was to present our achievements to the general public and all interested parties. This includes the blind in Croatia and other members of the international blind community, potential donors, but also non-profit organizations wishing to cooperate, Open-source software developers etc.

For the newcomers, first some basic information about the TLB project. In short, our answers to the usual questions (why, how, who?).

If you found that interesting, various TLB documentation is provided in addition. Here you can obtain anything having to do with documentation, starting from the User's manual to thorough programming reports. Also, you can place your comment, suggestion or a report of a bug you discovered.

In the download section you should find our source code, useful binaries or links to the software we used.

Web based TLB Demo illustrates the possibilties and features of the current TLB release. You can browse through the main menu options and hear the real sound captures.

Finally, in the news section you can follow our progress on a daily basis.

LAST UPDATE - 2004/03/04 !!!
TLB version 1.2 (based on Debian distro) is currently in development. You can obtain the latest stable TLB version (rpm package) from out download section for free. From recent you can also order a complete TLB set (including a cd, boot floppy, promo material, all nicely packed) for a symbollic price. The newest addition to the site is TLB WEB DEMO. Please try it if you would like to get an idea how this really sounds like :)))
